Ashley

Ashley is part of the community at Emmanuel Church, Bridlington and joined Stepping Up in 2022, he shares his story below.

I started going to church at the age of 9, to Sunday School, and then in 2011 I started going to St Martin’s Stoneydelph in Tamworth, where I’m from.

I went with Lu, who was my fiancé back then and in October 2011, I was baptised at St Martin’s, and in November 2011, Lu and I got married.

Between Louise and God, they have helped me through and keep my faith in good and bad times.

In July 2020 Louise and I moved to Bridlington and started attending Emmanuel Church. I started helping with gardening on a Thursday and I also used to help with the homeless meal on Tuesdays, but have now decided to take a break from that. I help where I can at church.

Last year, 2021, I did the Alpha course, where I grew more in my journey of faith, and I was confirmed at Emmanuel church in Bridlington the 5th December 2021. After that I started doing Stepping Up, where I’m growing more and more in my journey, and have learnt to open up more and share things about my faith. On the 14th August this year I will be reaffirming my baptism vows in the sea at Bridlington.

In good times and bad times God, I know for sure, has got me through.

In conclusion, I’m really excited to see what God has in store now for me.
