Lorraine

This Stepping Up story comes from Lorraine Millar, who worships at St Martin’s

My name is Lorraine Millar. I am a widow with two grown up children and six grandchildren.

I have worshiped at St Martin’s, North Road, Hull for many years and over the years have been involved in many aspects of St Martin’s life. My main interest has always been working with children.

When asked to do the Stepping Up course I wasn’t really sure what it would entail but it was the right decision and has really renewed my faith. One of the many topics we have talked about is listening to God and the people we come into daily contact with. It made me realise I had almost taken my faith for granted but I now look at it with a renewed view.

Stepping Up has really changed the way I think and has given me confidence to move forward and take on new challenges in the church.

I have really enjoyed the group. We are from different churches, different parts of the city and a wide range of ages and stages in our faith but we have all learnt so much from Stepping Up.
