Mission Amongst Older People
Emmanuel Church, Bridlington
Natalie completed Stepping Up in January 2023, and was commissioned as a pastoral community minister for her role in church & the local community.
Natalie now serves in the church, helping at warm space, leading morning prayers in chapel during the week, and helping to give communion to the congregation.
Natalie is using her gifts and experience to share God’s love in the local community, especially amongst older people. She visits local care homes and helps to lead communion services.
Natalie also does home visits providing home communion services to Christians that can't get to church anymore, the visits also provide an opportunity to spend time chatting, offering support, advice & praying. Natalie works alongside Barbara, also from Emmanuel Church in doing home communion visits. Barbara has been a big part of Natalie’s faith journey & healing.
Natalie used to work as a district nurse, but due to mobility issues from spinal surgery she had to give up district nursing. Natalie reflects that God has enabled her to use all her experience from nursing, the communication, and people skills to share in the mission and ministry of her church today.
“I believe all along God intended me to be where I am today. Now I get to help others heal and not feel alone.”
