Tuesday Meal

Kev worships at Emmanuel Church, Bridlington, and completed Stepping Up in 2022.

Kev’s story begins with him turning up at Emmanuel Church, Bridlington wet and cold during the winter of 2016. He received a warm welcome and a cuppa and returned again and again. Kev is now the chef for the Tuesday meal, serving food for people experiencing homelessness in Bridlington every Tuesday evening. Around 15- 20 people receive a hot meal with a warm welcome, people to listen, prayer and support with housing and other needs.

Kev joined Stepping Up because the church could see the potential within him, his faith has deepened and he has grown in confidence. He has discovered that he is is able to come alongside others, who like himself, might be overlooked by the rest of society.

Kev says it was one of the best things I ever did, when I walked through that door on 4th November 2016. “I am just giving back what was given to me.”
